Having won the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and topped the BBC Sound of 2016 poll, Jack Garratt is the most hotly-tipped artist of the year, and with his debut album Phase he proves why. Stick-in-your-head melodies, bass-heavy production, asymmetrical arrangements and THAT voice – it really is an excellent debut. Listen on Deezer using the below player.

The tenth album from Baltimore freak-pop band Animal Collective found them holing themselves up in Hollywood’s EastWest Studio, in the same room that The Beach Boys recorded their 1966 classic Pet Sounds. And the spectre of that record looms large over Painting With; with its relentlessly sunny disposition and joyful sonic experimentation, this is Animal Collective’s most instantly enjoyable album yet. Hear it below.

Rosie Lowe’s debut album Control is out today, and it’s an impressive example of restrained, ultra-cool electro. The production, courtesy of Lowe and Dave Okumu of The Invisible, is elegant and minimal, while Low’s vocals are gentle, at times almost whispered, making the frank lyrical content all the more arresting. In Rosie Lowe we’ve found a pop star with something to say. Listen to her below.
