With the full swing of summer starting to wind down, now is the perfect time to grab a little ‘me’ time before it’s completely over. Press pause on the hustle and bustle of trying to get the family organized for a spontaneous trip out, and detox from the stress of waiting in a four-hour-long queue on the highway.
Relaxing is an important part of keeping yourself healthy – seriously. It’s not all about squats and spending half your life on the treadmill. And with National Relaxation Day upon us, now is your perfect excuse to start your deep breathing exercises, and get back into yoga.
Or, failing that, take a nice hot bubble bath.
Add your favorite rubber duck (we’re not going to judge) and stick some music on to get into your zen. Music has been found to be one of the best ways to relax, just as long as you’re listening to the right tunes. In fact, when you’ve got the right music, it’s been shown to slow down brain activity, which means music can let those nagging tasks at the back of your mind disappear down the plughole. It’s like a backrub for the brain.
Slow the beat down, let those melodies lift the weight off your shoulders, and sink further into your musical happy place. We’ve got you covered with the fabulous relaxing playlists to soothe the summer stress.
