Introducing: Lewis Capaldi

AKA: The voice behind that song from US teen drama Riverdale.

Hometown: Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland.

Who is he? Lewis Capaldi is a 21-year-old British singer-songwriter, who began his musical career singing in pubs aged 12 and rose to prominence after self-releasing his debut single “Bruises” in 2017.

The sound: With his distinctive, powerful voice he turns personal, poignant lyrics into hit songs with universal appeal.

Why we love him: Despite all the adulation that’s come his way, he remains firmly grounded, often taking to Twitter to say how mad it is that he’s gone from pubs to big concert venues. He might be just out of his teens, but this guy’s paid his dues.
