Who can forget that last show? The sell-out concert at Madison Square Garden, the realization that we won’t be seeing LCD Soundsystem play live again, or hear any of their new music… Great news – they’re back.

The million dollar question – will American Dream be a contender for a Top 5 spot?
LCD Soundsystem’s frontman, James Murphy, is a straight-talking, song-writing genius. When it was discovered he was offered a job script-writing for the massive US sitcom Seinfeld at the age of 22, (yes, 22) all he had to say was: “I didn’t think much about it at the time. I was 22. I just went back to New York to smoke pot and play guitar.” Nice, James. But lucky for us, this meant Mr Murphy pursued his passion for music and song-writing, which led to the birth of LCD Soundsystem.
Getting down to the nitty gritty, there was a stigma surrounding the grand ‘finale’ at Madison Square Garden in 2014. James Murphy said that he wanted a life, that he wanted to have a family and some kids. But then it came to light that the only reason LCD Soundsystem split, was because they were scared the gig wouldn’t sell out – and what better way to sell tickets than to say it was the last ever LCD Soundsystem show?
Despite the excuses, and the real reasons behind the split, LCD Soundsystem are back, and the new album is a banger.
