DEEZER AND THE VOICE OF HOLLAND ANNOUNCE WORLD’S FIRST SECOND SCREEN INTEGRATION OF A MUSIC STREAMING SERVICE
Global music streaming service Deezer, broadcaster RTL and Dutch TV production company Talpa have announced the launch of an app that will see a ‘first of its kind’ second screen integration of a music streaming service and TV talent show, on hit show The voice of Holland.
The ‘RedRoom’ app; an application for iOS and Android, was released in The Netherlands this week. RedRoom will give fans of The voice of Holland access to exclusive content and, for the first time, the ability to stream their favourite performances of tracks from the show.
The app was created by Talpa specifically for this series of The voice of Holland, and the integration of streaming reflects the changing behaviour of its music and tech-friendly audience. In contrast to the app used in previous series, it offers users the functionality to stream all the talents’ tracks during airtime, and the ability to add them to their personal playlist (PPL) so they can listen to their favourite tracks from their favourite performers as often as they want, for free.
By ‘swiping’ during a performance the user adds the song to his or her PPL. If a viewer decides not to select a song during a performance, the track will not be added to their PPL – however all songs (of the talent still in the race) can still be added after the show via The voice of Holland Playlist.
Fabrizio Gentile, Managing Director for Deezer Benelux, said: “We are very proud to team up with hit show The voice of Holland. Not only from a music point of view, but from a technology standpoint they want to push the boundaries. With this collaboration we want fans of the show to enjoy their favourite songs from their favourite contestants without any limits.”
The voice of Holland premieres its 5th season August 29th 8:30pm on RTL4.
For the RedRoom app The voice of Holland has partnered again with Vodafone.
