Deezer and International Jazz Day partner up to celebrate jazz legends

Fans can now listen to official playlist featuring All-Star Global Concert

April 30th, 2019: To celebrate International Jazz Day and unite jazz fans around the world, Deezer, the global music streaming service, has today partnered with the IJD ahead of the official All-Star Global concert led by the legendary Herbie Hancock.

In 2011, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) introduced International Jazz Day 2011 to raise awareness of jazz and its role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.

As the official music partner for International Jazz Day, Deezer created a special line-up playlist featuring the artists performing at the All-Star Global Concert. This includes the likes of jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock, jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, jazz trumpeter Til Brönner, and jazz singer Kurt Elling. The playlist covers of several of Deezer’s Jazz playlists have also been taken over with images of the icons performing at the concert and co-branded with the charity’s official logo.

As the centerpiece of International Jazz Day’s global programming each year, the All-Star Global Concert inspires audiences worldwide with never-before-seen, cross-cultural musical collaborations. Tributes encompass nearly every era of recorded jazz and highlight the diverse influences that draw listeners of all backgrounds to this special music. Since 2012, the Global Concert has brought together dozens of artists from around the globe to spread the word about jazz and its positive message.
